More rumours of a BlackBerry tablet have surfaced this morning, with a top analyst touting some specs for the mystery device.
Ashok Kumar is one of the bods at analysts Rodman & Renshaw and he’s quoted as saying that the BlackBerry tablet will be a 7in model with dual cameras and that it’ll be with us as soon as this year.
He says: “Research In Motion is trying to pull forward the launch of the 7in touchscreen tablet from early next year… with a marginal differentiation being the front- and back-facing cameras for videoconferencing.”
If the BlackBerry is sporting two cameras then it would have clear advantage over the iPad. The Dell Streak also already comes packing a dual cam. No doubt BlackBerry has got on its business hat, thinking about the potential for video conferencing and the like.
Kumar’s report also suggests that the Blackberry tablet will have a 1GHz Marvell processor with the Armada 610 as the most likely candidate. That would give the Blackberry tablet the potential for 1080p HD playback and 3D graphics.
