

The official store of the Google Nexus One has closed its virtual doors today. It was the serach giant’s first foray into the world of direct retail, but due to the fact that production of the handset has now come to a close.
Google has placed a message on the Nexus One site saying: “the Nexus One is no longer available for purchase directly”. Anyone who still wants to get their hands on the phone can still do so if they sign up to a contract from Vodafone. And it might be a good time to snap one up – Android 2.2, FroYo is starting to roll out on the handsets right now.
