The latest hoax that we have come across to trick a client is one that says it’s from DHL or FedEx.
The email tells you that they have a parcel for you, which they were not able to deliver due to an error with the address. They say that they need you to confirm your address. The enclose a label for you to fill out. Unfortunately, once you click on this file, you have run a trojan file.
So, as we often say in regards to this type of hoax, feel free to contact DHL or FedEx to check for any genuine parcels, but do it directly by phone or using their web site. DON’T use any links from within the email itself. Ask yourself, is it likely that these companies would have your email to contact you with, or are they more likely to have left a slip of paper in your door?!
And be warned, no doubt the sender of this hoax email will get changed with time, and we’ll see hoax emails which say they are from, Parcelforce, UPS etc.
